I recently purchased a remote wireless control switch with two remotes for less than $15. I am always on the other side of the shop when I want the vacuum on. I used industrial velcro with a super adhesive side to attach these to my band saw and table saw. The set up was simple and works great. The remotes take a 12volt battery  that costs a buck and the switch is rated at 10 amps. I got it from Amazon and it is made by ZAP, L-Series

As you can see, it can operated up to 5 devices.

My remote is clipped to my shop apron. But, as you might guess, I forget to wear the apron.

I'd have to clip it to my nose or I"d lose it 

Velcro is a good idea. 

I super glued a rare earth magnet on mine. It's only a little two holer, though.
