Ok, had a small box come in the mail box today, about...noonish or so.

Ahhhh...yeah.  Might take an afternoon?

Union Mfg Co. on the iron.  Nothing else was.  Whale-tail lever was bent.   Knob was split.  Rear handle was..interesting. 

Took about 2 hours of rehab work on it.  Chipbreaker was in very bad shape.   Bolts got a good wire brushing.  New paint job, old was shot.  Iron needed a bit of work.  More on the rear handle..later.  And now the "after " shot..

Front knob is a spare I had, tossed the old one.  Took awhile to clean the lever cap.   Sides are rust free.  Sole?

Sole had a LOT of issues.   Looked like someone had done soon welding.  Deep scratches.   Sole is flat enough though...yep, that is a screwhead back there.  They had wallered out the hole, then added a long bolt.  Even bent it a bit to fit.  It has a square nut on the other end.    Beltsander to flatten this sole, and to reshape that square thingy.   Rounded the bottom of the nut, to better attach the handle.  BLO on the wood. Depth adjuster wheel is a steel one.  Whale-tail has been crimped down and the lever is a bit straighter..

The knee is doing great. the hand, well I still have no feeling in my thumb and first two fingers. I have been told it would come back and I have been told everything from a couple of weeks to six month to a year. So right now I am not too sure about anything.
