July 29, 201510 yr Decided to at least put a few pieces together.. Went and found my 3/8" forstner bit. It was hiding in another drill upstairs. Chucked it into the drill press. Laid out a bunch of "spots" on the corner posts. Trying to move the BIG side panels around to drill those counter bores was ...fun. First few pilot holes were with a portable drill. Later, I just used the drill press for those as well. A few #6 drywall screws, and a layer of Elmers. Had a clamp or two in place. Crowded place. Got the one side together, turned things around. Unit is still sitting with it's feet in the air. Repeat, for the other side. Finally, I can set it up on it's feet Needed to work on the door opening a bit. Those three c clamps at the bottom? I have a cleat being glued on there. Across the top? There is a "bar" to steady the top edges. Needed a place to hide these things Called Corner blocks. Screwed and glued into each corner. Like the screwdriver collection? Scout axe MIGHT come in handy...someday. I will add a slotted hole to the corner blocks. The I can attach the top through them. The slots allow the top to expand or contract. About them c clamps below? This is where the floor will attach. I need to do the other three sides, as well. Plywood "floor" then will be glued and screwed in place. Fan is very much needed down here in the shop... Almost had a miscue....Used too long of a screw to join the feet Yanked the long one out, and added a short one. About a 3/4" long was about right, here. Feet need to be leveled up. Need some more corner blocks made. And some more cleats for the floor. THEN, maybe, I can start the door build? After that, we'll see....Stay tuned...starting to see a finish line now...
