Two days of Food, friends, wood and tools

Featured Replies

Called Woodstick 2015.   A group of friends from lumberjocks' Stumpy Nubs band of misfits got together over in Martinville IN.   They came the Canadian far north of N.B. Canada and work as RCMP.  They came from VT, NY, MN, LA. OH, AND IN.    One even brought his camper from MO.  !!!    Three grills to set up and keep full of food, a couple jugs of special recipe ( 100+ proof!). and lots of rusty tools to swap.   Along with the usual BS, of course....

Traded away a few tools. couple of dovetail saws, a special hammer, and a hatchet that I even rehandle on the spot.  Took away from the traders' tables a few items....

During a drawing, I  won that plaque.   has four small magnets in the back.  The was a SW brace by Stanley.   I brought a 10" one to trade for an 8" one.

Gave a few classes.   drooled over a saw...

That saw was at least 28" long!    I didn't have the room in the shop for it.   So, someone else got to take it home.

and, thanks to this Woodstick, everyone knew how far the others traveled here.

Everyone laid out a few tools they wanted to be traded off.  As for that drawing....i did indeed donate a few things.

Slept inside a truck the first night there, second night I was back home.   I also had a "Mountie" pin from a real Mountie, and a red & white Canada Toque for the husband and wife team of RCMP.

Not a bad way to spend a weekend, gain a few pounds (5 for me!!!) and get to meet people I had only talked to on the interwebbies.

BTW: Found out when I was loading up to go home....a fellow from texas had sent me a bandsaw.   Two people from OK, stopped and picked the saw up, and brought it along.  Along with a case or two of FRESH Apple Butter, and a pine spatula to spread it with.  Have the bandsaw all together and running.   And, running out of room in the Dungeon Shop.

They are already making plans for next year......

uuummmmm... Apple Butter. We live in the heart of PA apple country. In the fall, apple festivals are every weekend. Unfortunately, they don't also sell tools.
