Making a violin with Per S. Ovesen

I may not be a girl but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a rare pleasure to watch a master at work.

My wife and I had the privilege of holding a real Stradivarius Violin about 20 years ago while at a small marriage conference done by Gary Smalley who is a well known Christian Marriage and Family Counselor. He had friend who was rather well off that had purchased the Stradivarius Violin at an auction for a very large sum. The Violin was damaged and was in need of repair so he let Gary use it for this conference to pass around for people to get a "feel" for holding a one of a kind masterpiece using that as a representation of just how unique, precious and fragile our spouses our marriage relationships are which must be handled with great care. It was definitely a unique experience. 

I was really amazed at the meticulous care in every single step.  Also the degree of sharpness on his tools.  Clearly he also has mastered the art of  putting a really sharp edge on all those different tools.  I also spotted a plane of a type that was new to me.
