I am Anthony Ward Sr. a retired U S Navy veteran and woodworker I live in Berwyn, ILL in an apartment with my cats Diana and Frosty, and do woodworking to keep busy.

In an apartment woodworking is a challenge as their is not a dedicated area like a basement or garage to do this.

I got started again about 4 years ago by building a couple of toy chests for my grandsons on their birthday. I first started going to the home center and had them cut down the oak plywood to rough size and brought it home and Sanded and planed off the splinters. my table saw a large Delta was at my son's since I didn't' have room for it. After assembly and varnish accomplished on the porch of the apartment I waxed and waxed till it shined like a new Penny.

After completing the first one I was concerned that someone would notice he flaws but after presenting it my son's comment was "dad it's beautiful" which was high raise indeed.

Since then I have done 5 more 3 of which I sold and now keep busy with various craft kits that I get from HHV a veterans service org.

I try to take the basic kit and embellish it after thinking about it for a while.

So don't let lack of a dedicated space stop you Get cutting and let the chips fall where they may.post-4174-0-35548300-1432342298.jpgpost-4174-0-49442800-1432342347.jpg

Hey Anthony, great stuff my friend!

We have quite a few space challenged folks on here that make due just like you do, Steve Newman, look him up in the member directory, and Ernie just to name a couple. It's a challenge, but when you turn out work like you do Anthony, it then appears there isn't much that anything can keep you down!

I love your chest, very nice, and I have also seen your other work in your gallery, very nice indeed.

I hope you keep coming back and visit us often, and share your work with us, it's a pleasure having you here.

Hi Anthony, I am another of the space challenged, I am a woodturner and the living room is my shop area/tv room etc :)

I love working with red oak too..

Thanks for posting, I thought I was the only one with space challenges in an apartment :)

Hey Anthony, You may be space challenged, but you do some nice work.

I think all of us are space challenged. The more space you have the more you need, it seems.

Welcome aboard Anthony,

Nice work!

Or spaced challenged between the ears!

Or just plain spacey.
