May 2, 201511 yr Well, inventory showed I had a few planes that just weren't worth keeping around. Would not get my money back, selling on FeeBay, either. There is a store not far from here, called Junk-in-the-Box. Figured I could at least trade three bad planes for something they had. Lets see, I had a ParPlus No.5 jack plane Corsair C-4 with OEM Box, no less, and Millers Falls made for sears cracked side smoother Did a bit of trading back and forth.......Got two items and left One item was a Bailey No.6c type10? Must have been 1/2" of MUD on it's deck and, it took a hammer drill to remove most of the bolts. This was after a tear down, so some of the parts could soak for a while in DW40. The second trade-in? Just a small saw By some guy named Henry Disston, and his sons. Steel back and is stamped on the back. There is also an etch on the saw plate, too. Have that soaking, with a coat of NeverDull. May have to tear it down to really clean it up. Now, back to the plane. Wire wheels on the drill press, sanders, and a few other instruments of reconstruction... . Might be about cleaned up? 18" long. It is a "c" model Since it has these grooves in the bottom. Might have to clean those out, again. For such a simple thing as a plane, there is a LOT of parts to one of these.. Lots of bolts to clean up. Frog has been flattened, iron is sharpened, almost all of the crud removed. Not too bad a day, trading stuff? The rear handle looked like a dog had chewed on it, sanded it back a bit, and gave the two handles a coat and wipe of that SMELLY BLO. Don't look too bad? May have to go back there and do some more trading, iF I can sneak in and out.....
