Welcome aboard Boomer.  I read your profile so as an AF vet myself I have to ask.  Is your handle because you were a boomer on a KC135?

Yes I was Ron, from 1973 through 1978 with the 22nd Air Refueling Squadron at March AFB, California until I was medically grounded for inner ear damage (can't fly if you don't know which way is up apparently) :) .

I spent many an hour "relaxing" in one of the boomer stations flying from Ramey AFB to Homestead AFB.  I was MMS and we used KC135s to ferry our ordinance to Homestead.  Great to have youy with us here at TPW.  Look around and meet some of these fine folks.  Gene Howe was a crew chief so he'll probably chime in here.

Welcome to our world Boomer! We have a ton of AF here, I'm feeling a bit lonely these days!

Hey, fellow woodworker, welcome to this fantastic forum.  You will find some great topics here, some wonderful folks who just LOVE to share opinions.  We also love to see pictures of your projects and for you to share in our forums.

Oh, yes, I forgot to mention that we ALL help our wounded brothers and cry for our fallen heroes.

As Ron, I was also USAF but on the other side from Ron.  He was the gas station, I worked on the planes that received the fuel that enabled our 24-36 hour sorties.  B47 & B52H.  Homestead AFB 1958-1963

Fred

It's amazing to still see those H Models still flying.
