March 25, 201511 yr Ok Ron, inquiring minds want to know, wood type, finish type, method of application, joinery? We are hungry for details! Looks like a nice handy way to have them in a place that is obvious, but not obvious, if you know what I mean. Oh ya, how'd you do the drawer slides?
March 25, 201511 yr One of those long guns, I do not recognize. It sort of looks like a break barrel pellet gun except for the place for a magazine so I'm stumped. Nice work. I like the open bins in the background What's that table on it's side in the background? Is that you work too?
March 25, 201511 yr I saw the title to the post and thought "WTH is a hideaway coffee table?". Good idea, well thought out.
March 26, 201511 yr Author well actually they a both pellet rifles, the draw will hold semi automatic rifles, bolt action are just a little to big,lol next one will fit ALL types, and yes endtables will hold pistols, the table its self is made with White Ash top, just attached to a yellow pine frame w/cedar strips applied to it,the stain is Red Oak,w/2 coats of clear on the sides and top has 4 coats,as for the drawer its smple 1/2" ply glued an nailed and just slides on wooden runners on the inside of the frame,it dosent have a security lock YET,am looking at differnt designs, next one will have the same as the endtables will have them,I put the blue felt on the inside, figure it would make it pop, since most gun cabinets and gun racks have the green felt, figured i needed to be differnt , oh an Cliff the table on its side is another coffetable i built also, was part of an old drop leaf table somebody threw away, i saw it and said i could make something from that.
March 27, 201511 yr So what is the model/make of the older one. Now that you say it, the newer one looks like a Crossman. The older looks like a Beeman maybe a P17 I've wanted a PCP for a while but can't reconcile myself to working a hand pump 20 minutes for every X number of shots and I sure ain't spending the $$ on a scuba pump. My regular is an HW90 break barrel.
