March 22, 201511 yr When i retired from the OHARNG in 96, I never got the Retired ID Card nor a DD214 to take home. The copy on file at the courthouse is from AIT fort PolkLA in 76. Need a source to find the one I'll need when i show up at WPAFB support Sqd to get my Retired IDs made, and sign up for tricare.... I'll look through the packet I got to start my retired pay with. Not sure IF one is in there... I will be a retire from civillian type of work in MAY this year, might need the form for SSI, too....
March 22, 201511 yr That is odd Steve. When I seperated, they were very strong in telling us to guard the 214 because they are hard to get a duplicate. Contact your local veteran's affairs officer.
March 23, 201511 yr Not sure if this will help http://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/ http://www.dd214.com/dd214_free_vs_fee_copies
March 26, 201511 yr Author Just mailed a "signiture" paper today, did the rest of the stuff online. The earlier ones, from the 70s, are on file at the courthouse. Need the last ones for the IDs to get made. Might take a few weeks to get the returns.....
June 30, 201510 yr Author Well, just got a packet in the mail, yesterday. In it was all my seperation papers ( DD214) and a list of places to get my IDs done. Took a second phone call to get things moving. So, now when I get a dollar bill, I can go register down at the courthouse as a Veteran. Well, after almost 40 years of this sort of thing,...I just MIGHT Qualify???? Need Transportation to one of the places they listed. Closest is 35 miles away. Too old to "hump" that far.....
