Research Sources for Woodworking (Open Content Type)

Featured Replies

There are a ton of resources out there to find information about this and that, and woodworking in particular. I would like to know if you guys know of any research resources that are open content, meaning public domain type of work, with out copyright or open content that is shareable with a citation or reference.

One example is the The Smithsonian, they have a "no known copyright restrictions" because in the most basic sense, it's ours already, our tax dollars have paid for the content at the Smithsonian website so it's basically ours to a degree, that we do not use it for commercial purposes, yet for educational and sharing.

I am interested mainly in woodworking realated content, I remember there was a location to download old books about woodworking, but I cannot find it now, it was government archives.

National Archives is another example, but are there more? Do you know of archival research sources in the public domain, open content?

Thanks for any help

Will do some research, sire.
