March 16, 201511 yr Recently I got my first woodcraft catalog in the mail. It is only one of the things that clog my mailbox. Most never get by my large recycle container. However I briefly scanned a few pages and was very surprised, This catalog is one of the best I've seen that is primarily devoted to woodworking. Carving, cutting sharpening and turning. I saw many interesting things and quite a few that I've never seen before. I don't have to order from it, we have a Woodcraft store, It is an interesting read. I'm old fashioned and like to look at items in catalogs in print. Of course I surf the web too. Does anyone have a favorite woodworking catalog they would like to recommend?

I love the WC catalogs Ron too. I agree, there is nothing like perusing it in hard copy, it's great lights out reading before bedtime. I love the Veritas catalogs too, and I still get a kick out of the woodworking bible catalog they call Grizzly!
March 17, 201511 yr Author Hey thanks! I looked at some Veritas catalog on line and ordered their hard print catalog. I do like the products I see and get many ideas on how to make my own and to reinvent/redesign/adapt them for my own use.
March 17, 201511 yr Hartville tool and Woodworker's Supply are 2 I like. But I keep hard copies of all that I deem important....much prefer hard copy to on line. One problem with the hard copy is that they don't always have everything in them (Grizzly must be an exception, given it's telephone book size) or aren't always as current as the on line. But the hard copy gives me an idea of what to look for on line.

That is the only drawback with hard copy, online you'll see flash deals etc. Good habit to check online before placing that phone order.

Nice photos, and glossy covers and pages. I'm a sucker for aesthetics.
March 17, 201511 yr I'm with you on the WoodCraft and I love to get their sales fliers. Sometimes it sparks something I have been looking for at a good price. If you register with them you get a coupon the month of your birthday to take and extra 10% off. Of course I love to go through the Grizzly catalog. I have bought several pieces from them.
