You have probably guessed by know that I tend to make stuff for the kitchen and/or cooking. While searching for something else, I found the instructions for making this little device-

The instructions and a printable  "dial" are available here-

Scott Phillips' American Workshop has another video. This one is about turning a natural edge bowl. You can watch the entire episode here-

I finished rebuilding my plant light/"greenhouse" this week. In a couple of weeks it will be time to get the hot peppers started. It takes almost a month to get the little buggers to sprout and they grow very slow. I think I'll try to make my own little plant pots (no- not pot plants) from newspaper. That'll be cheaper than buying the peat pots. I found a video showing a turned device for making the newspaper pots-

The author of the video is from Denmark and is very talented

Thanks Lew, sorry for being late to the show. Great post and thanks for the links!

Lew,

Tommy Chong would prefer the later!

Lew,

There are some days I'd have to agree  ;)

I would have to agree too sometimes Lew especially on days where I have pain and my doc doesn't seem to like properly prescribing pain meds, so I wind up going without it a lot.

Anyway I didn't see anything in reference to the plant pot maker as for what dimensions were used so I guess I would have to wing it if I wanted to try one. I am going to do this as soon as I get the current order I have, completed. I have a piece of apple already partly done that was a remnant of something else, and spalted maple and even some beech so I have what I need as far as wood goes.

I love it when the creative juices get flowing again. Especially after having a lot of downtime :)

Very Nice. John Lucas is a great turner. I love a lot of his work.

I did finish that plant pot maker but still have not had any newspaper to try it with lol. I am thinking that I will be getting the weekly ads tomorrow so I may have a chance to try it then :D

If for some reason it doesn't work I can always tweak it and update later LOL
