Hi, everyone. I am new here and still trying to figure out the navigation for this place.

I make my sawdust, shavings and chips in Panama City Florida.  Retired Air Force and wood worker for many years. Now my passion is turning because I can be more in touch with the wood and all it's characteristics. Thanks. Not sure if this post goes here but could not find any other place for posting an intro.

This is the place uxodigger! I replied back to you in an email, since you got it figured out you can ignore that email. it's great to have you aboard and we hope you enjoy your stay. And thank you for your service sir! I am currently learning how to turn wood, errrr I mean firewood! Welcome!

By the way, what is a uxodigger?

A uxodigger is someone that dig up UXO's  Unexploded Ordnance. I was in the
Air Force Explosive Ordnance Disposal teams during my military tour and then retired and went to work for contractors doing the same things. So we find bombs, bullets, and such and if not on the surface, someone has to carefully dig them up so that they can safely be disposed of. I chose the name uxodigger because it is kind of unique and very few people know what it is or means.

Well you got me on that one! It's a cool name too, and I am glad you are stll around to use it! Sounds like a pretty dangerous job, one I would not voluntarily include in my quiver of MOS's.

I know this is an elementary question and one you have been asked many times, but what was the biggest, or baddest one you had to dig up?

Welcome UXOdigger. Like John, I'm glad you are still above ground. What a job, whew.

I'm sure you had to handle many inadvertent ordinance releases. None of the birds I ever crewed lost any, but several others did.

Welcome aboard sir and thank you for being here. :)

A little late here but welcome aboard.  Is a UXO akin to EOD?  If so, we're kinda, sorta related.  I was Air Force MMS - Nuclear.

Hey~!!

I used t live  in FL as a boy:  Tampa, Tarpon Springs, Sanford,  &  Eustice.

Returned as an adult to do a contract for a year in WBB in S. FL

Never got up to  the panhandle.
