Wheel Chair Ramp Installed!

Featured Replies

Our new "Outreach Pastor" at church asked if I would make a wheel chair ramp for his college age daughter that has Cerebral Palsy and is in an powered wheel chair. The ramp goes for the garage into the house with a 4" rise and 4' long. It was an easy project to do and I had most of the materials in the scrap pile, but I did have to buy the metal pieces that go on the ends. I was going to paint it but he said that he would do that and will put on some outdoor carpet or artificial turf for traction on top as he didn't want anti-slip tape. I attached it to the garage floor using 2 "Tap-Con" concrete bolts so that it won't move when the wheel chair rolls up or down and I attached the top into the door jam so that it wouldn't come up. It will be easy for him to to take out the fasteners as needed to clean up the garage or when he needs to replace the carpet. So my cost was about $35 for the metal pieces and fasteners and just told him to have Tami and over for dinner when they get all moved in and settled.

Your price was $35 but it is priceless to them Allen.  Nice job!

A job well done, Allen.

Very nice job on that Allen. I know they will appreciate it very much.

It's wonderful how something so simple can make a huge impact. Good job!

Great job Allen. Backed by a great heart.
