Fred W. Hargis Jr Posted December 15, 2014 Report Posted December 15, 2014 Just got this installed, though getting it finished was a real exercise in patience. The varnish was slow to cure enough for the sanding routine I used. Anyway, it's a plan that was in woodsmith and I made a mirror to match. John Moody and John Morris 2 Quote
John Moody Posted December 15, 2014 Report Posted December 15, 2014 Wow, Fred, Very Nice!!!! and great job on the mirror also. I love the warm color of the finish. Quote
lew Posted December 15, 2014 Report Posted December 15, 2014 That is really nice, Fred! Great job on the caulking, too! Quote
Fred W. Hargis Jr Posted December 16, 2014 Author Report Posted December 16, 2014 Yeah, I saw that caulking as a mistake as soon as I did it. Should have got some brown color caulk or put in a piece of molding. Oh, well. This is our basement bath so I guess I won't loose to much sleep over it. I may be able to paint what is up against the wall, but typically when I attempt something like that it gets worse. Quote
Ron Dudelston Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 Nice work Fred. Would I be correct bthat it is screwed to the wall on the back apron? Quote
Fred W. Hargis Jr Posted December 16, 2014 Author Report Posted December 16, 2014 Yes. There's about a 1" gap between the apron and the wall ( on purpose, to allow the legs to clear the base and shoe molding on the floor). So I screwed a cleat to wall that was the right thickness, then screwed the apron to that. Quote

We have a bathroom that needs a vanity, and the design you chose is something I have been considering seriously, but for the only change I was wanting to incorporate a slab into it. That really updated your bathroom big time, great work and it's robust design to last a loooong time. Quote
Gene Howe Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 That's a really good looking vanity, Fred. I really like the open design and that "Farmer's sink". Quote
Cliff Posted December 17, 2014 Report Posted December 17, 2014 that's nice. I like the open look Quote
Wayne Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 Nice cleam work. Love the outcome! Good jog buddy! Quote
