Greetings everyone. I am so glad I found this place, you all are doing wonderful things for Veterans. I'll be proud to join you and contribute to your efforts.

Here is a snippet from my failed crowdfunding campaign including an embarrassingly bad video.

"I suffered an injury while serving in the Air Force. Just to be very clear, it was not in combat, I was never in harms way, it was simply an accident. In comparison to the injuries suffered by so many in service to our country, my injury was little more than a paper cut. As I got older however, the injury took it's toll. In the last ten years I've had three neck surgeries, the last in May 2014. My official diagnosis is "incomplete quadriplegia" which means all of my extremities are affected to some degree due to damage to my spinal cord. I have limited mobility, but for the most part I'm restricted to a power wheelchair."

I'm planning on doing another crowdfunding campaign once I know what I will receive from VA. In the meantime, I'm teaching myself to use Sketchup so that I can show what my products look like, rather than just rely on written descriptions. I'm also expanding my market to include a variety of small items.

My proposed workshop space is going to be very small, 10 x 20. I'm restricted to using mostly power tools, so I'll be shopping for benchtop tools and will need to be very creative in how I layout it. I'll be very interested in hearing suggestions for tools, workbench and shop design.

Thanks for your kind welcome and all you do here.

Bob

Thanks Gene. If anyone knows of good resources for tools, jigs, benches or storage for wheelchair users I sure would appreciate the information. I'm trying to soak up as many ideas, I can so I can make some well informed choices moving forward.

Bob

Thanks Lew, great resources to have. Beautiful, impressive work on your site too. I added you as a buddy on Lumberjocks.

Bob,

LJ Chris Daniels uses a chair. He's still active duty and on Okinawa. Haven't seen any posts from him lately so he may be outprocessing. He mentioned it was imminent. Anyway, when he gets situated stateside, he'd be a good source.

You might go to his page on LJs and see if he talks about his work arounds.

Welcome Bob, glad to have you here!

Thanks Ron, pictures would be great. I think at least some of my equipment will have to be on rollers.

Thanks Ron for the pics it does help me visualize things on wheels. I'm probably going to have a 10 x 20 or perhaps a couple feet larger. The biggest challenge I have right now is where to locate my table saw  Jet 708495K JPS-10TS It's 35 x 52 but I'd like to add an outfeed table that can double as a work space for assembly.

I was looking at another shop tour on youtube and saw a great idea for the benchtop tool carts. They added fold down wings on both ends to act as an extension of the tool beds.
