When I started woodworking I heard the phrase about you can never have enough clamps. As you get going you learn real quick, that you can never have enough clamps.

We have been making so many cutting boards lately, that I had to add enough clamps to do two more in the set. I was making five at a time, now we will be making seven at a time. If I start making many more than that, I will have to have more room in the shop to put the board while waiting on the glue to dry.

I really like the Bessey 1/2" pipe clamps for the cutting board blanks we are making.

If you have someone looking for a Christmas idea for you, tell them to get you clamps, you can never have enough.

You may want to consider a clamping station similar to this John, it would be easy to build, and you glue up a lot of cutting boards at once.

Hmmm,

Swing down from ceiling?

With my luck this year, we would have an earth quake just about the time I walked under the ceiling mounted clamps.

I've enough room for all the tools, benches, clamps, lumber and etc. Now, if I could just manage to move around in there.

I couldn't even begin to count the number of clamps I have. I easily have 200 or more.

a glue-up rack is definitely needed for both mine and my wife's work stations but I do not have the wall space so I need to design  a free-standing mobile design.

That's pretty cool John.

I have seen one in action John and they are cool. Plus you get a lot of leverage and can really tighten them down without much effort. I think it's design that one could easily build. The only draw back is wall space though, of which I have none, but like John Hechel stated, one on a rolling stand?

I must agree with "Never having enough"  Without a good storage system, you never can find the ones you want. I don't do much large projects, and use Irwin clams as an extra hand or two. I clamp them to my bench so I have them assist at any time.  If they are in plain view, I'm OK, but if I left them elsewhere, my memory and eyes trick me :)  :)  :)

I'm with Larry that it needs to hang from the ceiling.
