Ron Altier Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 I do a lot of centering, punching center and marking with an ice pick, and an awe. I know these are very basic tools, but I use them a lot. Now I have added another to my favorite list. The auto-punch. For years I wonder what good they could possible be, certainly couldn't be better that my awe. Well.................I was wrong. I got an auto-punch on sale and love the way it works. The absolute best part is one handed operation. None of that punch in one hand and hammer in the other. Call me old fashioned or a slow learner. Might be a #5 Jack Plane...had FIVE of them, sold one, and then went out and bought a replacement for it.....Also have a Junior Jack, and the Jumbo Jack. Might like a Jack Plane????
