September 19, 201411 yr Very little time to play in the shop, at the moment. Got a small backsaw resharpened to make a rip cut. The 18" long Craftsman backsaw will be next in the vise. Filing rip again on it. Even had to cobble up a handle for them skinny saw files. Decided to make a keeper for a few of the skinnier chisels. Nothing real fancy. Just some scrap pine. Craftsman 22" miter box to cut to length, and a drill bit or two to make a few holes. Had to make sure the handles were low enough to clear the lid Just made it. Tote tray is filling up too mainly measuring stuff will go here. The wider chisel will mainly just hang around along with most of the screwdrivers and pliers. Found out I needed to work on some drill bits...soon as some are a might dull. Did get a few slats done, to make sliders for the right-hand side of the chest might get some made up. As for that backsaw i sharpened back up Filed rip, this is a Made in West Germany backsaw. Still a bbit hard to start, it will rip once it does get a-going along. Cuts straight, too. Need to get some pics made up. Today's rust Hunt was a little skimpy. Just a single Barn Sale. 1/2 a set of Cresent nutdrivers with case...$0.50 One Stanley nail set, with a red rubber coating..$0.25, 1/2 a set of B&D drill bits, in a case. $0.50. Well, it is a start, anyway..
September 19, 201411 yr You have been a busy boy! I really like the handle on the file in the first picture! When I took Building Construction, in Vo-Tech, we always sharpened the shop saws. Not sure I could still do it.
September 19, 201411 yr My, My Steve, you have been a busy man in the shop. I love the storage ideas. Looks like are getting the hang of adding pictures anywhere you want them in the text. Pretty cool huh? I hope to get a little time in rust hunting this weekend.
