August 3, 201016 yr comment_53918 Got an order for a couple of Cherry Mirrors with the beaded handle. I made one of the handles a little thicker, this was by request. Both have beveled glass mirrors. Finished with several coats of Lacquer. Report
August 4, 201016 yr comment_53922 Very nice John, so you finished the mirrors with lacquer? Kind of hard to see the mirrors now aint it? Just kidding! I like them. What I see inside where is the mirror rests, is what appears to be a scalloped edge, what is that? The mirror, or is it the way the wood is cut on the inside radius. Beautiful work sir. Report
August 4, 201016 yr Author comment_53921 I think it is just the way the mirror picked up the reflection. These have the scalloped beveled edge. I had them tilted a little bit when I took the pictures. I just cut out deep enough for the mirror to sit just below flush if that makes sense? That way if you lay it down on the mirror side, it is not sitting on the mirror. Here is another lathe project for you. I turned those out in just over an hour from scrap and cut offs. The mirrors come in a pack of two for 2.99. The mirror is 4" the outside of the frame is 6" John The American Woodworker said:Very nice John, so you finished the mirrors with lacquer? August 4, 201016 yr Author comment_53920 Thanks Josh. chuck up some wood and give it a turn. They are pretty simple and easy to do. They don't take a lot of time either. John Joshua D. Rollins said:Nice mirrors John, that's another thing that's been on my to-do list for some time. Report
