I will be gearing up here in the next couple weeks, to finish my rocker.  I am anxious to find out what is next, I haven't really read the finishing schedule yet on the rocker, but from what I have glanced at it looks like the Maloof style, I'll keep you guy updated.  It appears to be a wipe on rub off after a few hours type of finish. Sand to a very fine 1000 grit.  Burnish the wood etc, I am excited.

Will do Larry, the other chair builders love to put a gloss finish on these chairs, I want to break the mold and go with a satin finish. I am not a big fan of gloss finish's, sometimes it just looks cheap to me. I love the satin look.

You may want to re-read my post, "Finishing the Amana Way." It gives you that "Maloofian" type finish. Use all, parts of it or none, depending on the ending finish you are looking for. Small sample finishes almost always lead you in the right direction. They just take time that a lot of woodwoekers don't want to spend.
