My name is Ron and I was born and raised in Ohio. I moved to Colorado last year and simply love it here. My biggest surprise about Colorado, is the lack of interest most people have in wood working and wood quality.

 I find this site to be interesting and thought I'd become part of it.

As for wood working speciality.................I make unusual things.

Hey Ron, just took a tour of your web site and man you have some really cool stuff. That 49 MG is incredible and being a table guy, I really like the tables.

I may not have read far enough but on the seam rippers do you just take the ends out of the old ones and turn the handles or do you purchase a kit and then turn the handles?

Anyway, man we are excited to have you join us. Upload some of those wonderful pieces to the forums and help us get some chatter going.

I love to turn and you have some get turned pieces, how about posting some of those in the turning forum. I know some of the others would love to see them

I buy the metal ends at Joan Anns and they have a blue plastic handle on them. I grip the metal piece with pliers and the plastic with my hand. A good pull will bring it out. When you drill the hole for the metal piece, make it small enough for a very snug fit. I first used epoxy for insurance, but found out that a good tight fit was enough. However I live in a dry climate and humidity may well play a factor in other areas.

If you turn some, be sure to have wider places on each end for comfort and ease of use.
