August 27, 201015 yr  I have been working off and on for several weeks on a jewelery box. It is a "toss out" project by a friend. He had the 4 sides mortised together and a top. All are made of aged Cherry. It also had some major mistakes and he elected to toss it all. Then he gave it to me and said "I don't think there is anything you can do with it. It is ruined." I had to do a lot of trimming, replacing and thinking to get it, but I think it is going to work out. I wrote to this and wood forum to get advise on flocking. It turned out that the guys that tried it..........liked it real well. So today I flocked it and tomorrow I'll see how it came out and so will you if it comes out ok. If not........................forget this letter.Ron
August 27, 201015 yr Right on Ron! I hope it turns out great, and I am most certainly looking forward to those pictures! :-bd

August 27, 201015 yr Oh come on Ron, show it to us either way. Then we will know how the flocking goes. Sounds like it has been interesting....
August 27, 201015 yr Author It went on easy enough and looked great. When I blew it off I found some areas that were not covered well, some that had a glaze and some small areas that I missed. I am going to see if I can touch it up and then I'll send a picture. John Moody said:Oh come on Ron, show it to us either way. Then we will know how the flocking goes. August 29, 201015 yr Author I just left the WOOD forum and their following has really dropped. Their first page has 30 posts and 12 of them were started by someone from wood or a forum source regular. (Ralph) There is still posts on the front page from last Thursday. With all the changes, I'm not surprised. This site will grow, of that I'm sure. August 30, 201015 yr Author I had a large forum entry and photos set to send in. I went to edit and deleted a photo to change it. All worked well and I sent it. For some reason, my whole letter and photos were deleted. Here is another try at the photos. I am curious to see if it shows a picture or a file. It just isn't consistent.
August 30, 201015 yr Author No pictures, only files. I saw where Ralph was having the same results. I will write more later on my opinion of the flock process.
August 30, 201015 yr Ron from what I can see in the picture, it looks really good. Are you happy with the results?
August 31, 201015 yr Ron again I am sorry your having these issues with photos and posts getting deleted. Sounds like you and Larry got the same gremlin. I am talking with the techies now about this, see if there is something going on. That box of yours looks pretty doggone good from my vantage point! That's a beaut!!!
