September 1, 201015 yr I got the first couple of coats of shellac sprayed on the top and table tonight. Â The top is Bubinga, legs are Maple and the apron is Baltic Birch. Â I hope to get it finished by Thursday night. I have a show this Friday night and want to have the table there. Â Â Â Will sand tomorrow night and spray a couple of more coats and then put the Pratts and Lambert #38 on Thursday night. Running a tight schedule on this one. Â Â
September 1, 201015 yr Well now that is beautiful John, Very nice. You have made these before if I am not mistaken correct? And if you don't me asking, what is the price tag on this baby? The wood species is perfect, and the color is great!
September 1, 201015 yr Author I did make one of these with Leopard wood for the top. I don't usually make many things the same unless someone orders one. I had a request, but not an official order so I thought I would put this one together and throw out the bait.
September 2, 201015 yr Author From a hardwood dealer near Memphis, TN. http://www.hardwoodweb.com/export/html/importspecies/HWWSpeciesBubinga.html They are a couple of hours from me. My wife's sister lives about 15 minutes from there office so we go over and visit and I go visit the hardwood store. lol Larry Jenkins said:Beautiful John..Where did you get the Bubinga?Larry
October 4, 201015 yr Author Took a few pictures the other day of this table after I sprayed on the Pratts&Lambert 38. It is finished and I have had a couple of inquires on it.
October 4, 201015 yr H ey John tha'st one great look table, nice mix of different woods. Rumor has it that Pratt & Lambert # 38 is being discounted because of high voc's. Might want to stock up some in case it true. I read that on a one of the forums the other day. To bad, that a nice varnish. RichPS doesn't look to me like you need any classes in spraying John Moody said: Took a few pictures the other day of this table after I sprayed on the Pratts&Lambert 38. October 4, 201015 yr Author Thanks for the complements Richard. You are correct about the Pratt and Lambert. I spoke with a friend on mine who is a paint rep. and he got the information for the Pratt and Lambert Rep. I did pick up a gallon to keep on hand, but at 45.00/gallon, I didn't want to buy a case. I really like it that is why I was wondering about the finish you were using on the cabinet doors.
