WAITING FOR MY NEW TOY;

Featured Replies

Good Morning Friends
Here I am waiting for my new toy ( Wood Master 38" drum sander ) and pleased that I was able to get it in the manner I did. $300.00 down and no payments till 01 September 2011. I most likely would not have bought it had it not been for that allowance. Now all I have to do is to deposit a monthly amount in my savings account which is an interest paying checking account, and when 01 September 2011 comes along all I have to do is write a check and pay it off with no interest.

I only need to make $7.50 per day to make a deposit each month for the payment. That was a deal that I couldn't turn down.

Not questioning you, but I thought under the new Obama plan that companies could no longer offer No Payment options. They could do the No Interest but you had to make a minimum monthly payment.

Not to hijack your thread, I guess I just didn't understand. Maybe it didn't go into effect until now? Oh well I am now rambling....

Hi John,

I have it in black and white where it says on my receipt no payment or interest till 01 September 2011.

That's great Ralph, I may have not understood the change.

So has it arrived yet.

Hi John,

Yes, it has arrived and I had to use my Millwright experience to get it in my shop because of the tree limbs wouldn't let him back it in to my door. Then I cribbed it up after un-crating it in order to take the bottom shipping frame out from onder it and then I installed a couple of 2 x 6 pieces and mounted casters so I could move it around in the shop.

Here are two pictures of it however I still need to install the reverse handle so the belt will revers it's direction.

Now here is the second one.

I hope you enjoy seeing it for I am chomping at the bits to try it out.

Hi John,

Invision the space to the right of the motor, I plan to utilize that space by building a cabinet in it with two doors on each side for storage of sanding rolls for the sander as well as to store sheet Emory on the other side. I may even hang a drawer under the horizontal framework. You never run out of places to store things.

Ralph, I know that you would not buy a tool like this because it was just a "bargain" I also know that your past experience as a top wood worker, would cause you to investigate several drum sanders. Besides the bargain, why did you select this sander?

I value your opinion.

Hello Ron,

The first reason is because I have the Wood Master 718 planer, sander, gang rip and trim maker of which I have dedicated to making trim because I have a Jet 15" planer. With the service I get from the 718 and the fact that this drum sander is capable of sanding 38" wide.

The company service I receive from Wood Master Tools is without a doubt the best service from any other company I deal with. That in it's self is one of the reasons I went with them as well as the bargain they gave me.

I sure wish you lived closer to me so I could come over and borrow it. :-bd

I can think of a lot of things to run through it. I bet it would do a super job on leveling up my cutting boards.

Hi John,

Yes there are several things that can be run through it and as soon as I get the reverse belt connected I won't have to run around the machine to catch the items being run. All I will have to do is to flip the switch and the belt will stop and reverse it's self and bring the item back to me.
