Good Morning Friends,

Taking the time to set up my new toy (tool) being the Wood Master 38" drum sander is taking me away from my work schedule but, I feel it worth it for I will be farther ahead once I do get it set up and running. Today I will be attaching the reverse lever that will allow me to not have to run to the other side to catch the item being sanded for all I will have to do is to just flip the lever and the item will come back to me.

I do like the digital read out of the exact thickness that the machine is running on for it will allow me to have better control of the pieces I will be sanding. Naturally I will also have to check the thickness manually to assure that the digital read out is exact and then I will know for sure it is running true.

I know that I posted the picture of the tool in the other post but, just in case you missed it here is the front of the machine.

Having this machine will offer me the opportunity to generate some work to keep some cash flow coming in and it will allow me another source for offerig a service I didn't have before. As I mentioned in the other post I plan to build a cabinet in the open space to the right of the red motor for storage of the sanding belts as well as some other items pertaining to this and other sanding equipment. I am truly anxious to get it up and running. Note the 2 x 6 base I installed under it which allowed me to install the casters for ease of moving the machine around. Two on one end are fixed, while the two on the left side are pivoting style and will allow me to stear it to where I wish to store it when not in use.

Okay Ralph, you have been way too quite today. We need to hear how it is going with the new toy!!!

Hi John,

Not being electrically inclined it took me all morning to get the reverse leaver hooked up but, once I did it worked fine and I was quite pleased with myself for my accomplishment. Then I hooked the 5 horse motor up to the 220 and turned it on and believe it or not it ran quieter than the drive belt on the machine. I then took a lunch break and jumped back on the doll clothes racks I am making for the client in Atlanta GA. as they are looking for them next week. Naturally the holiday will effect the transportation of the shipment however I will be working on Labor day for a while finishing them off and packing them for shipment. I am making 5 dozen of the little things so it is rather time consuming even though I gang cut 4 at a time. I will post a picture of them once complete.
