Dan just finished his rocking chair!!!  Great job Dan Chernoff!

If you would all like to see his fine work, you can go to his blog "Building The Hal Taylor Rocking Chair"
and see the wonderful work he did.  I can relate to your excitement Da.  Job well don sir.  Very fine piece of craftsmanship.

Way to go Dan. Awesome chair.

One question, did you build the two chairs at the same time or was this the second chair for you?

You mention building another and I would encourage doing another soon even though you want to move on to other things as the process is still fresh in your mind.

Great job on the Grandpa and the Mamabear chair.

Hey John, Dan doesn't frequent here often, but I believe I can answer for him.

The chair on the right, is a chair he built about 5 years ago I believe in Hal Taylor's actual classroom experience. That's right, he got to work along side the master builder himself in one of his week long classes.

From what I understand, his chair class is amazing.

And Dan, great job! Now, my turn!!!

Thanks John, I tried to reply on his site, but I guess I need to sign up somewhere. So I thought he might check in here.

Thanks for covering for him..

Hi John,

The other John is right, I don't check in here that often and I haven't figured out how to get email alerts from this website. He's also exactly correct about everything else. Chair #0 ("Black Beauty") was made by Hal Taylor with me trying not to mess things up back in 2005 when my wife sent me off for a week to study with Hal as a big birthday present. It took me five years to get up the nerve to try and make one "all by myself". I'm glad I did. It also gave me an excuse to buy a few more tools :-) I want to make another one soon but my honey-do list grew pretty long while I was working on the rocker.

Not sure why you couldn't comment on my blog, it's supposed to let anyone comment but I have to clear the comment before it shows up. I'll go over now and take a look.
