September 17, 201015 yr comment_53132  Well I made it back from WA and I must say that that southwest Utah and the Rockies were awe inspiring. However my efforts to get a piece of Madrone wood, did not succeed. I was limited in where I could look, but a stack of firewood is an excellent place to look. I did search about 4 of them and did not luck out. My time ran out. I did talk to one lady woodworker that had turned some and she liked it, except her chisels were not sharp enough. She said it was so darned hard that it dulled her chisels up quickly. Report
September 17, 201015 yr comment_53135 Hey Ron, couldn't you just pull of the side of the road with a chainsaw and get some? Report
September 17, 201015 yr Author comment_53134 Yes I could have, but what you have heard about Seattle is true....it rains most of the time. We had our SUV packed so tight that I doubt we could gotten much more of anything to fit. Wait till next year. Report
