Bridge over something

Featured Replies

My daughter wanted a small bridge built that would serve as a lawn fixture and be functional so kids and adults could safely walk over it. She also said she didn't want to spend as much as the nursery charge.
I went to Home Depot and straight to their mill ends (or waste bin) where you can get pieces of wood for 51 cents. As luck would have it, I got some really nice pieces of treated 2x8 and some 2x6. Then I purchased  5 six foot cedar fence planks for $2 each, each would make 3 planks.. Next I bought some screws. My total bill came to $18.87.

It is 2 feet wide and I reinforced it with a middle support so that the cedar planks would not give any. I can see kids using it for a bike ramp and who knows what else.

Hey Ron, that's really a nice little bridge. It just seem to fit right in with everything else. And, you sure can't beat the material cost. 113.gif

Ron that is pretty cool and what a deal you got on the supplies. I need to get you to come do my shopping for me.

Before they use that one for a ramp, they had better drag in out in the yard or it looks like they will hit the corner of the house, och!!!

I can see them having a great time on it though. I am sure your daughter is very proud.
