October 6, 201015 yr As I routed my final long piece and shut the router off, I noticed spots of blood on the bottom of my piece. It took a while to find it, but a small splinter had made my little finger bleed and of course that little finger was on the bottom of the board where I couldn't see.Is there a slick way of eliminating blood stains, besides sanding , or making them a permanent character spot.
October 6, 201015 yr The only way I have ever removed it was sanding. I have done what you have described many times. I am very interested if someone else has a better way also.
October 6, 201015 yr try swabbing the area with hydrogen proxide. This tip works great for removing blood from clothing so hopefully it will work on wood.
October 7, 201015 yr I am happy this is where the story went Ron, man when you mentioned the router, I was thinking the worse.
October 7, 201015 yr Author The company I worked for all my life made safety job #1. It was pounded in our heads until it was just a way of life. It is automatic for me to wear all safety gear, plan my work and use all safety devices. The router can be a very dangerous tool and I proceed with much caution. Maybe, too much caution sometimes, such as double checking things that I have already rechecked. Still that is no guarantee that an accident will not happen, but it greatly reduces the odds. My biggest safety fear is that someone will come in my shop when I am deeply concentrating on what I am doing and scare me. I jerk quite a bit when someone comes in and surprises me. I have warned all my neighbors to knock before entering, but that too is no guarantee. I had a sign up to knock before entering, but some of the kids are too young to read, so a sign is only good for those that can.
