static

Check out the static build up on my planer hose. Odd thing is that I've never had a static shock.
It only goes part way down the hose, so maybe the charge isn't building up enough.

Wow!!! I have never seen anything like that! And I live in desert country. Shouldn't be a problem right? The vacuum is grounded?

My planer is connected to the DC and I can feel the static in my hair when I walk by it as I am planning, but I have never seen that before. Pretty wild.

Hope everything is grounded.

During the colder weather the relative humidity can be low; I've been lightly shocked before by my planer. There must be something about those shavings that does it. Is there a way to "ground" the hose on the shop vac by zip-tying copper wire to the hose?

Most of my DC ductwork is sheet metal, and I have plans to ground the flex hose portion for each machine. But I haven't thought about doing that to the shop vac.43.gif
