I started on my rocking horse project yesterday. The easy, anyone can do, instructions are anything but that.  Confusing to say the least and only one illustration (of the finished product.)  I am not saying this as rookie, I have built many projects from instructions, such as the marble tower and chest you can see on my web site. They were FAR more complex than this one.  Anyway, I did get it figured out and I plan to make major revisions to it, rather than abandon this set of plans.  I should have drawn up my own plans from past experience and went with it.

As my friend always says "It is what it is"

Been there done that. It's frustrating when you get crappy plans.

I think the people that write instructions should first present them to their wives and see if she can follow them. If not, simplify them to where she can.
