October 11, 201015 yr Good Evening Friends and Fellow Woodworkers, I had a suprised vist today as our own Roy Bommershine dropped by my shop today as he was at his new home around South Vienna, Ohio and since it is only about 6 miles away he dropped in for a short visit. He was there with an inspector to look over his new dwelling which will be his project for the next year as it needs a lot of work to bring it to code in Clark County, OHIO. I don't want to say too much for I don't want to spoil his announcement on his venture. I am sure as he goes along he will be sending pictures and his home may also fall into the category of RJW America Video subjects. Roy, was much taller than I had him figured however that didn't take away from his nature and personality. Welcome to my neck of the woods Roy and don't be a stranger at my shop and I would like to offer the use of any of my shop tools and equipment while you are working on the property. Ralph
October 12, 201015 yr Boy you guys should have gotten a picture to post here of the visit. But hey glad he got to stop by and visit with you. It is great when you meet someone and they look and talk different than you expected.
October 12, 201015 yr That's wonderful Ralph and Roy! I would like to think The American Woodworker had something to do with this reunion? If not, let me at least bathe in the possibility of knowing we brought to woodworkers together, just for a day.
October 12, 201015 yr Author Yes, it was a great surprise and I would have taken a picture but for some reason my camera decided it didn't want to work even with new batteries in it. John you did in fact have something to do with our get together for without these forums we may never would have met. I am looking forward to getting better acquainted with Roy as he travels back and forth from Michigan to Ohio over the next year while working on the house and it just might be a topic for RJW America's cameras during the renovation. I have already mentioned it to Roy. Ralph

October 13, 201015 yr Speaking of accent, I didn't know Ohio folks had an accent, while talking to Ralph on the phone, I noticed a pretty strong southern accent in Ralph. I thought Ohio fought with Gen Grant! Joshua D. Rollins said:Are you saying that you didn't expect the TN hillbilly accent when you called John? LOL John Moody said:
October 13, 201015 yr Author Hey John, I picked up that accent while doing country music shows as Cuzzin Ezzra on the Grand Ole Opry many years ago while it was still in the Ryman autotorium. Then from there I played with the round mound of sound Kenny Price and Bonny lou on channel 4 in Cincinnati, Ohio. I played in many places too numerous to mention but, we sure had fun. My last live music show was in 1972 at the Amos Lanes Bowling Alley and I retired from there to never play again. I felt guilty coming in around 5 AM on a Sunday morning. October 13, 201015 yr No, no that is not what I meant, You read the words posted and you sorta in your mind add a voice to the person, or at least I do and I guess I just not right. Anyway looking at the picture and adding your own voice you sorta develop a personality for that person. When you meet or get to talk with they it is always fun to see how close or how different they sound. I know I am a little off, but hey that makes it fun. Joshua D.
