Pictures of the Fleetwood 1958 TERRY Camper

Featured Replies

Good Evening Friends,

Following are some pictures of the Fleetwood Terry Camper trailer I took on as a challenge to restore it back to as close to original as I can, so sit back and relax for this is going to take a while.

I will try to explain each picture.

This is theleft front of the trailer and you can see where someone tried to break in by powing the door out. They destroyed the latch as you will see in some later pictures.

This is a front view where there is a broken window that most likely was shot out by bullets from the rear as you will see later.

As you can see this is the right side of the trailer from the front angle toward the back.

This view is the back of the camper, note the bullet holes around the flower. Also if you look up over the window you can see some more bullet holes. This is going to be a fun job.

My dad and I lived in a trailer that same vintage and size, hockey sticks looks like the same one! Eventually pops tore out the front and put a small room addition on the front. We had fun in that ol trailer. It was parked behind a friends home, under a huge Torrey Pine tree. dropped pine cones on the roof of that trailer and you'd think a boulder landed on it. There was sap all over the place too, we had to take off our shoes before coming in.

John,

I'll bet that was a blast. Isn't it funny how we can remember things like that? while other things just fly right on by.

Yep, makes me remember in 1961 the first time I came to Alaska I lived for several months in a trailer about like that.

Hi All,

Little do you know how you all are helping me to design this camper back to a close resemblance of what it might have looked like when new. Somewhere in my pile of papers I have found a product that will make the aluminum look brand new with a nice shiny finish.

Thanks to all for your input.

Ralph
