Yesterday I recieved a call from a friend.  He asked if I was interested in a 5 HP dust collector.  He read the specs to me.  Turns out is was 3 phase.  I told him I didn't have 3 phase but was interested in what else they had.  He said there was a lathe in the corner but he didn't know anything about lathes. 

Turns out he was at the Black & Decker family and friends sale.  The sale is a periodic event where Black & Decker/Delta/Porter Cable/Stanley cleans out their reconditioned tools warehouse. The sale is usually only open to employees and their family.  I guess this year with all the mergers they opened it up to friends as well.  My friend told me who to get an invitation from so I procured one and went to the sale.

This sale was a tool buyers dream.  All the tools are reconditioned but come with a full factory warranty.  There were DeWalt drills, Porter-Cable routers, Stanley hand tools, and oh that Delta lathe. 

All $486.00 worth of it!  Model 46-755 with electronic variable speed.  There was even a 3 HP double bag dust collector that followed me home too.  $222.00.  Not bad huh?

Yep, I'd say that's a gloat.

Yea, it is a gloat, but I would too if I got that deal.

You betcha it's a gloat! And I am greeeeeeeeen with envy. Great find Greg. It sure is nice to have friends in position isn't it?

As the others have said, now your expected to show off some bowls and other stuff Greg. Will be looking for some pics in the near future.
