Some burl

Featured Replies

My daughter just sent me these pictures of a tree in her yard.  I told her to bring it along when she comes home for Christmas.  It seem like I should be able to get a couple bowls out of it.  She's in California, I'm in Michigan so I'm betting I don't get any wood

Wow! That's some tree she has.

Man that is some tree and some ball of burl.

I hope you get what you have ask for at Christmas, but you might better have something else on your list also.

Wow, That is a wonderful tree. Does she have any use for the rest of the tree. I run a portable sawmill in So. Cal. Where is she????

They are renting, so the tree isn't really theirs. They live a couple hours east of Sacremento, I don't remember the name of the town right off, I haven't been out there yet.

Beautiful. My first thought was a live edged table top.

Wow!!! Hey Roy, just a chainsaw and a small sampling, she could just flick a medicine ball size off that sucker, just like flicking a scab off the elbow, it wouldn't kill the tree!

We had a local crook in the crime report the other day. He was tre trimmer that was arrested for scamming an elderly lady out of 9 grand for trimming 2 trees. He was sentenced to restitution, jail time served and community service.

Maybe I could pull some strings and get his community service assignment changed to California. He could drop that tree. Cut those burls up for turning blanks for Roy to share with us, and load that trunk up for Brent.

If the property owners complaine Well what do you expect from a convicted tree trimmer.Grin.gif

Whoee Roy,

Would I ever like to get my hands on some of those burls. I can see the project now for it would fit my lathe very well.

I'll bet the figure would be outstanding.

Hey, the next time your in my area stop by and I'll go with you to your fixer upper to give you as hand in any way I can.

Just let me know when you are coming,

Ralph

I'm not sure when I'm going to be back, the deal fell all apart on the house. We've told Nancy to keep an eye out for something else so I'm not sure how this whole thing is going to end up.

Well shoot Roy,

Sorry to hear it fell through as I know Nancy is too. She is having it kind of hard with the economy being what it is and no one are buying nor can they even get financed. Things here are pretty tight and I am thankful that I am as busy as I am.

Keep in touch my friend,

Ralph
