November 12, 201015 yr Well here it is. I just put the final touches on yesterday. I designed this one myself, because I didn't like most of what I saw on the web. So I used the best features from several I saw. I have it in a safe place until we give it to her. We have also made the decision to give it to her ( 4 yrs old) at Thanksgiving as a special present from PaPa. If I give it to her at Christmas, it won't be as special due to the toy overload then. Kids now get so much that they just go from one plastic mega toy to another. I put a special plaque on it with her name, mine and the date. You can see it on the first slat above the front legs. I must also give credit to my wife for much of the saddle and bridle work, she did a great job.
November 12, 201015 yr Ron that is absolutely awesome. Kudos to you and your wife. That will be one happy four year old at Thanksgiving when she sees it for the first time. You and your wife need to put those planes together and offer them for sale on the Internet. That is one of the best Rocking horses I believe I have seen. Great job!!!!!
November 12, 201015 yr Ron that is beautiful! And your own design to boot! That is excellent man. And what a special gift. I think that is a great idea giving it on Thanksgiving. Your right about the mega toy overload, this will be cherished for as long as your family exist. Your great grand kids will be rocking on this one. Very nice job sir. Congratulations. And, very nice and clean saddle work, give the misses a thumbs up from the gang here too.
November 13, 201015 yr Wow what a beautiful piece of work ! That lucky young lady will hopefully pass this along for generations to come . I really like your final design -
November 13, 201015 yr Nicely done. Look great. Did you put some kind of a runner on the bottom of the rockers?
November 13, 201015 yr Author I was prepared to put runners on the bottom of the rockers, but my daughter said it would only be on carpet and not to worry about floor damage. So I didn't have to do that after all.
November 13, 201015 yr That gets an ATTABOY!!!! Bet that little girl loves that horse for a long long time!!!
