November 16, 201015 yr Busy, Busy, Busy for my shop is a little thriving community these past few days for we have the 1958 Terry Camper Trailer that we are working on as well as two counter tops in the shop along with the small things we are working on and today we went out and bought a new refrigerator for the camper so the clients will really be tickled.Oh I almost forgot that we went to the 1870 house yesterday and removed the two wings that the poor fellow tried to construct and got lost on his way for it was in no way suitable nor did it meet the codes. As if that wasn't bad enough he didn't even have blueprints or a building permit. I just talked to the owner a few minutes ago and he was also surprised to see them gone. Since I hired Kirby he is really working out well and we have fun during the day.Next we will be starting on the two fireplace to wall cabinets with book shelving above them mortised into the cabinet tops. Here are some pictures of the mantle I built for a friend and client; This is a diagonal picture as you can see. Note the rays on the right. This is the same corner up close so you can get a view of the figure. Pardon the flash back of the camera flash so I'll get it better in the next picture. This is not a solid mantle but, is a box with 45º edges all around where two corners and edges meet and I installed a French cleat on the back and gave him one for the wall. Then he is going to lay brick veneer all around it.I hope you fellows like what you are seeing.Ralph
November 17, 201015 yr Author Good Morning Fellows, Thank you both for your compliments and just in case you didn't notice the front and ends were out of the same board so they would match all the way. I picked out the best board for this application in order to show and figure of the rays in the QSWO boards. The tricky part was cutting the end 45º angles for I had to cut them with my circular saw. However as you can see they turned out pretty good. Just lucky I guess. Ralph
