November 21, 201015 yr Good Morning Friends,Well I have two projects getting ready to start. One as you know is the 1870 house facade which will be started as soon as I get the blueprints approved and start making the trusses in the manner I will be doing them. I plan to go to the location this morning and get some critical measurements to start the drawings while I am watching the last NASCAR race of the year. Then I will transfer them to vellum so I can get them printed to make four copiers. Two will be left with the county Zoning office and one will be the approved one as well as the work set, to use while making the trusses of which will be documented by the camera crew for RJW America. Also come Monday I will be acquiring the oak plywood for two base cabinets and book shelving to go from the fireplace in the family room of my clients home that will run to each side wall and 8' high with crown molding around the tops of the book shelving. The stain will be Golden hickory and finished with 5 coats of hand rubbed Tung oil by Minwax which is a mixture of 50% mineral spirits and 50% Varnish. The base cabinets will be made with raised panel doors and no drawers which will be 48" wide x 18" deep and 36" high with the 5' 03/8" high book shelves mortised into the top of the base cabinets. All of the shelves will be adjustable so the client can arrange them to suit there fancy. These two jobs will be including time spent on the 1958 Terry Travel trailer so with that all on our plate I and my helper will be quite busy. Kirby is working out very well and I am pleased that I hired him to aid me in the shop as well as on site taping of the RJW America segments. Also my former apprentice was in my shop yesterday and he has agreed to help out on the RJW America filming so by getting the exposure to the general public he will have some documented experience that may help him down the road. I am so looking forward to these different segments that may make for some good experiences for all.
