November 24, 201015 yr This year we are going to make Thanksgiving easy. There's only going to be 3 of us and were just going to grill some cow. The turkeys and pigs are going to love us.
November 25, 201015 yr I am finishing up a mantle , starting a run of wall paneling for an ongoing client , and have a load of alder logs arriving in the morning . My wife ( with some help from me ) is preparing turkey take-out meals for a few folks that can't get out themselves. I take great pride in having raised the turkey myself ! May everyone here have a happy and healthy weekend -
November 25, 201015 yr Wow John! You have a great weekend planned. And Rich, your a Turkeys best friend man! Rob, what a wonderful thing your doing with the take out meals. Good job man. I got to see Robs prize Tom Turkey, man that sucker was beautiful, the plumage would put any peacock to shame. We are having a mellow weekend. It was going to be full of guests tomorrow, but my son and my wife came down with the flu, and the guests will not come near us at this point! So we are on our own for Thanksgiving. I just hope our guests had a back up plan. This Friday I will hang our Christmas lights on our home. And Saturday depending on how the misses feels, we will do some Christmas shopping, and Sunday will keep on working on chair number two. Thanks for asking John

November 28, 201015 yr Author Josh, thanks for pulling for Alabama. It looks like we came up a little short though. So how was the trip to Woodcraft. I usually stop at the one at Oak Mountain, exit 246 when ever I am heading through Birmingham. It is a nice store. Joshua D. Rollins said:I'm glad you guys are getting to stay close to home, I on the other hand am getting ready to go in on third shift. Tomorrow morning I'll come in for a nap and then it's off to my Grandmother's house, not too far away. Then, I'll be going to Birmingham until Sat. to spend some time with my wifes parents. I will be going to Woodcraft friday monrning though! John, this ONE time I'll be cheering for Alabama. I hope they crush Auburn, whatever it takes to make Boise look better. Even though I know that they're never going to get the respect they deserve. This will probably be my last post until Sat. night, so HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!
November 29, 201015 yr Author Well I got the panels for both cedar chest glued, sanded (love my drum sander), and the dovetails cut for both chest. I got one of the chest glued and in the clamps. Should get the bottom in tomorrow night. I hope to get the second one glued tomorrow night also. Pictures will follow later.... I got the old rockers off the rocker I am working on. I have the new pieces planned and should get them cut to size sometime this week. Got all eight of the cutting boards sanded and ready for the finish. I had a pretty productive weekend even with all of the distractions. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend and maybe you got to spend some time in your shop.
