November 24, 201015 yr If you don't know what a "Bucket List" thread is, it's were you post woodworking aspirations you would like to complete before you "Kick the Bucket".I know some of you have participated is this kind of a thread on other forums but we have a new group of people here at The American Woodworker and I thought it would be interesting to hear/see what yours are. My aspirations is a block front chest similar to the one in the link. http://www.rubylane.com/ni/iteml/312573-hc1#pic1
November 24, 201015 yr Wow, Rich, you set the mark high. I don't what I want to make yet which is probably why I haven't made it. But I want to do some veneering. I guess the chess boards are as close as I have come to that but I want to do some piece of furniture with some really nice veneer in it. That is on my list, just don't know when I will get it started. I guess I have to decide what kind of piece first. LOL.
November 24, 201015 yr Author John, since you're into chess boards I have a suggestion for you're bucket list. You could work veneer in to this also. November 25, 201015 yr A Pennsylvania Highboy, just like the one Reid Smith built. Ever since I have seen that sucker, I have been in awe of Reid's woodworking, and that highboy took the cake. So my bucket list, a big Pennsylvania Highboy. Oh yeah, did I say it will be build purely from hand tools. From the ripping of the board with a hand saw to the handcut DT's and the all the profile plane work. But my skills need to catch up with my aspirations first See Reid's HIgh Boy
November 28, 201015 yr Rich, I like that. I might have to look into that. Thanks for the suggestion. Richard McComas said: John, since you're into chess boards I have a suggestion for you're bucket list. You could work veneer in to this also. John Moody said:
