November 25, 201015 yr Thank you Rob.The mail man drove up to my shop today. He said " Hey Greg you got a box". When I saw the return address I knew what it was. The mail man was curious so I opened it in front of him. He was amazed. He said "I have been hauling the mail for 28 years. Yours is the first chunk of wood I have ever delivered". Come to find out he is an aspiring woodworker too. Of course I had to show him my shop. Sorry to the rest of his route if your mail was late. The chunk of wood was a huge redwood trunk base. I'll add a picture today. However, I did coat it with Anchorseal since I can't turn anything that big yet. I hope Santa is good to me and brings me that Talon chuck I have had my eye on. Thank You again Rob. I can hardly wait to see what is inside.
November 27, 201015 yr Hey Rob, let me also echo my thanks for the box I received today. I had run to Lowe's to get some glue and when I got back my son said I had a box. He said it feels like a tree it is so heavy. When I opened it and he say what it was he just laughed and said, well at least it is part of a tree. Got mine coated with Anchor seal also and will get started on a nice bowl just as soon as I finish these two cedar chest. Thanks so much!!! John
December 8, 201015 yr Hey guys, I'm jealous cause all I got in my box was a lump of coal. Oh, well at least I can stay warm for a while. Ralph
December 8, 201015 yr Hey Guys, I have about five or six walnut forks drying on my shed that I will offer anyone who wants one. They vary in size and I just might take a picture so you can pick the one you want. They still have the bark on them. Ralph
December 9, 201015 yr That is a nice offer Ralph! I hope that John promotes another fund raiser for the WWP soon as I would like to send out some walnut chunks myself !
December 9, 201015 yr Just give me an excuse! I am thinking about the next fundraiser, the last one was so successful. The next big one will be Memorial Day Week. But that is far away, our troops need us before then. So I am planning something in the interim. rob durfos said:That is a nice offer Ralph! December 9, 201015 yr Hey John, I'll donate one of my walnut forks to the highest bidder plus shipping via UPS Ground. I'll even take pictures for the winner to choose from. Ralph
