December 5, 201015 yr Good Morning Friends,Over the years and working in the field of construction and woodworking I have had the occasion to help fellows to learn the many different steps used in the different phases of woodworking and construction. Not that I felt I knew more than the next guy or gal but, I had learned some easy methods of achieving a common goal with the least effort. Though at the time I was doing these things I had no idea that I was teaching but, in reality I found later that that was what I was doing so I decided to use the methods I had achieved to go full time in the teaching of the trade to all and any who wished to learn. So over the years as a teacher I have been able to teach not just one but, over 200 individuals what it takes to be a good craftsman and this is something I am proud of, for I have been instrumental in helping those folks to learn my given trade. Now with RJW America I will be teaching even more folks through my videos and passing on a soon to be a lost art for the woodworking trade is being eliminated in the schools in leu of more techicnical skills in the cyber space of computers and other gadgets which in a way is good but, most are not learning even how to drive a nail without bending it. I am thankful for these forums and computers as a new and different way to teach the methods of woodworking. I am willing to teach all who are willing to learn any phase in woodworking as well as showing folks the easy methods used to reach a common goal. Respectfully, Ralph Jones
December 5, 201015 yr Your efforts are applauded Ralph. I can say wholeheartedly, if it wasn't for my 6th period shop classes in High School, I never would of showed up to school. I looked forward to those shop classes at the end of the day, that is what got me out of bed to go to school, not moms nagging, not the threat of suspension for playing hookey, but that shop class at the end of the day. Not every kid is cut out to be an engineer, a lot of kids are cut out to work in the field, with their hands, that's just the way they are wired. I think it was a damned shame that our schools decided the computer programming class should take the place of the shop class. Just a shame, I feel they left a lot of kids behind on that one. Thanks for what you do
