December 7, 201015 yr Those look like they would make good potato chips Richard. That is some serious warp in those. That is not where Wrap and Twisted came from is it?
December 8, 201015 yr Richard, I am new to warped doors and the one on my grandfather clock was only warped a quarter of an inch. This one is pretty close to WOW. . Are you going to replace them or attempt to straighten them? I think I would just make new ones. Good luck, what every you do.
December 8, 201015 yr Just spray a little water on it and tie it back for a couple days. That should take care of it.
December 8, 201015 yr Author Those aren't my doors. I found those picture on another forum. Looks like some one built doors out of construction grade pine dried to 20 percent.
December 9, 201015 yr Did anybody see the finish NOT on the end grain? By the way, Once I have a door made I will NOT leave it laying flat on a workbench. I store them on edge.
December 9, 201015 yr Richard, I don't recall ever seeing a cabinet door with that much warp and this is one good reason that I don't like inset doors unless there is a stop behind them to prevent such a thing happening. Another good reason for over lapping the edges. I have used a false stile attached to one door to appear to be a stile in the middle of the opening but, even then it did not warp. Ralph
