December 29, 201015 yr I popped the first set of 4 back braces out of the forms this morning. Â The first pic is just a picture of the Tightbond III Wood Glue after dried, it turns nice and dark, and for the walnut rocker, this is great. The second pic is the first two back braces popped off the form, they are stuck together, I get an uneasy feeling every time I do this, even though I know I took precautions to make sure they don't stick together, it sure looks bad when they are first removed before clean up. It wouldn't take much to cause them to stick together and that would just ruin this particular set. The next pic is showing what I use to clean up the sides of the two back braces before I attempt to separate them, a chisel and a block plane, I remove the majority of the glue with the chisel, then I run my block plane over it about a dozen times and the edge is then clean, I do this on both sides, before I attempt to insert a chisel between them for separation. Successfully separated two back braces. My first set of four back braces off the form and separated. Looking good! That's if for now folks, I am heading back into the shop now to glue up the second set of four braces, then I'll glue up the rocker lams and I also hope to getting to bandsawing my rear legs to rough shape. We are rolling along! Thanks for looking.

December 29, 201015 yr Author Thanks guys. John H, I leave the edges natural, the ash actually darkens up quite a bit with some finish.
