Here are two articles written by a fellow I've learn to trust over the years. You may be very surprised at what's in, or not in that finish you use. For example,


Formby’s, Zar, Gillespie, and Hope’s “Tung Oil Finish†are wiping varnish—nothing more than regular varnish to which mineral spirits has been added, thinning the varnish so that it can be wiped on.  Minwax Tung oil finish is really just a oil varnish blend with no Tung oil.

Selling pre-mixed finish is one of the greatest scams ever.  Formby's tung oil isn't tung oil.  I mix most of my own finishes including wiping polys.  Cheaper and I know what I'm getting.  As for tung oil I buy mine by the pint at Rockler. Woodcraft also sell it but the store is farther away and I'm lazy.
