Hollow form turning

Featured Replies

Most of my turning has been spindle type turning. I have turned a few bowls but I haven't gotten into like vases or deeper projects to hollow out the inside.

So I am wondering what most of you use to hollow out with. I am going to the Tennessee Woodturners Symposium next weekend and I am sure I will be looking to add something to the shop from there. I think I would like to try turning some type of hollow object this spring to get me going. The craft shows I do will be starting up again the first of March so I need to get busy.

Let me know what you like to use or have you made your own.

There's a tool I saw at last years show that was a handle that held metal carbide bits for getting inside vases and other tight spaces that you might want to check out.
