January 28, 201115 yr Five years ago this month , I came up with an idea , bought a chain saw and started wood working .Looking back , I have to chuckle at all the water under the bridge , the trial and error ,the near misses , and the amount of work (hours ) spent to get here . I go to one wood show a year , have never been to another persons shop , or had a lesson . For that matter ,I had no interest in wood whatsoever until five years ago. Sometimes things click - maybe it's timing .Guess I better decide pretty soon if I like wood working or not ! Just thinking - LOL
January 28, 201115 yr Rob, I have been to your outfit, I have seen your shop, your grounds, your work, my gosh, what you have accomplished in 5 short years, is more then most woodworkers could accomplish in a lifetime. You got my respect sir, keep up the great work, and keep on keeping on.I don't think you ever told me though, what did make you jump into woodworking that wonderful day 5 years ago. We have some new members here, if your not familiar with Rob's work, go to his website to catch a glimpse of his wonderful architectural mill works and custom woodworking.Tule Peak Timber. The link is to his gallery of achievements, but there is more to his site. Surf on over and check it out.
January 28, 201115 yr John , I asked why so much wood (trees) all around us is going to waste .I bought a saw and started teaching myself what wood is all about . One thing led to another as the saying gos .Attached is a pic of the very first piece of wood I ever cut . This art piece I donated to the San Diego School District .
