Wood Turning Symposium Blog Finished

Featured Replies

Well if you are interested, I have finished the Tennessee Wood Turning Symposium Blog. It is two days worth of turning presentation and WOW was it fun.

I have all of the pictures I took in the blog and small explanations. If you want to know more, please let me know and we can talk about it here.

Please check out the blog, there are some great pictures of some of the items people at the symposium brought to display.

Thanks

Wow and wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome John, you sure took alot of nice pics, and thanks for the detailed event posting. I feel like The American Woodworker has a reporter on hand! That was a cool time you had buddy, John Lucas seems like a great fella. And the art work is incredible.

What was the brand of lathe most turners were using, what was the big name out there?

John Lucus is a very nice guy. I have really enjoyed getting to meet him and talk with him about turning. His turning is excellent and he is very artistic.

As far as lathes, there were four sessions going on simultaneous in four separate rooms. There were two Jet Lathes, a OneWay and a Delta being used for the demonstrations. I didn't even look at the model number on the ones being used.

Woodcraft in Nashville (actually Franklin) is a big supporter of this event. They had a couple of lathes there but the one they push a lot is the Nova. They had a Nova there on sale for 899.00 that is usually 1395.00.

This was also being shown.

ning-ebo-49859-42.jpg?width=721This was called the Elephant Bowl lathe. You can turn a very nice size bowl or log on this.
